Functional addresses and mailing list
To compose a functional, or maling list, address:
- verify the address structure as indicated in this page
- choose the function name in accordance with the list on the page
Once decided the address please return to Functional email addresses or Mailing lists page and use the request form.
Address structure
The address is composed of a maximum of three items followed by @polimi.it :
where:
FUNCTION (compulsory): name of the main function for which you want to request an e-mail address. See the list available on this page.
Eg: biblioteca@polimi.it
DETAIL (optional). Specify the details only if it is necessary, for example to disambiguate homonyms.
Eg: biblioteca-architettura@polimi.it
STRUCTURE (optional): please specify only when the function is present in most structures.
Eg: biblioteca-leonardo@polimi.it
How do I enter the structure?
Schools and Departments: use the acronym, see the list below.
Campus: the name, eg. leonardo or mantova.
Areas: see the list below.
Building: ed followed by the number, eg. ed9.

Functions names
To request a functional or a mailing list address you have to choose in according to this list the FUNCTION name.
For some functions are explicitly mentioned DETAIL and/or STRUCTURE, but can be modified as needed.
If you do not find correspondence with the names proposed, is possible to request the inclusion of a new item.
The new name must be approved from the communication area.
