Before you begin

Complete these checks before starting the configuration

If you are reconfiguring your device after a previous certificate has expired, we recommend that you “forget” any networks you previously configured.

Extract and install the certificate

  1. Extract and install the certificate
  2. When prompted for a password, enter the passphrase you set during certificate generation.
  3. Select the certificate type “Wi-Fi Certificate”
  4. Enter a human-readable name for the certificate. You may need to install the certificate in Settings > Wi-Fi > More Settings > Install Certificates

Download the Eduroam installer

  1. Visit cat.eduroam.org and click “Click here to download the program”
  2. Select Politecnico di Milano.
    If it is not present in the initial list, use the search engine.
  3. Select polimi-TLS
  4. Click on the “Eduroam” button
  5. If it says “download your linux installer”
  6. Click on “choose another installer
  7. Choose “Android 8 or newer”
  8. Click on the link for the platform you are using: “ Google Play ” , “ Huawei AppGalery ” , “ as local download ”

Instal Eduroam

  1. Install the “ geteduroam ” app
  2. Select the organization “Politecnico di Milano”
  3. Select the Polimi -TLS profile
  4. Click on “ reconfigure device ”
  5. Save the networks

Set network parameters

Access the Wi-Fi networks available on your device in Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi > Available Networks.

  1. Click on “Eduroam” or polimi-protected
    1. Identity: NNNNNNNN@polimi.it (use your personal code)
    2. User Certificate: Select the name previously assigned to the certificate
    3. Click Connect

You have completed the configuration of your first Wi-Fi network

  • Repeat step 2/2 to set up the second network.
  • The certificate expires two years after it is generated; you’ll receive an email notification approximately 15 days beforehand. Upon expiration, the connection will stop working, and you’ll need to reconfigure your device with a new certificate.
